Suzanne Rivière was born in the city of Poitiers in the Vienne department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, France, on 24 April 1915.
In 1933, she married Michel Rivière, who was then managing an insurance agency in Charente-Maritime. Together, they had three children: Brigitte, born in 1937; Philippe, in 1940; and François, in 1949. One of her sons pursued a career in Africa as a refrigeration engineer, while the youngest became a writer based in Paris.
Suzanne was widowed in 1985. After her husband’s passing, she lived for a time with her ailing daughter, but soon found herself alone. She remained independent until the age of 102, when she moved into the Saint-Thomas-de-Conac residence. She enjoyed reading and painting, often creating artwork for her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her age was verified by Guillaume Legris of Les Grands Centenaires Français, and validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation on 8 September 2025, and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
