BIOGRAPHY

Osada was born in Japan on 2 January 1901. She had at least one child, a daughter named Tomi.

At the age of 107, she was living in Komaki, but at some point she moved into a rehabilitation hospital in Kasugai, a neighboring city. In 2012, when she was 111 years old, a special event was held at the hospital to celebrate the longevity of all patients over the age of 100. She was presented with a congratulatory letter and a bouquet of flowers, and the hospital manager described her as the “idol of the hospital.” Osada was said to be anticipating an upcoming visit by a group of young police volunteers from a local police academy during this time. Even at the age of 111, she still had a hearty appetite and never left any food uneaten.

Osada passed away in Kasugai, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on 9 February 2013, at the age of 112 years, 38 days.
