Shizue Nakayama (Japanese: 中山 靜惠) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Shizue Nakayama was born in Japan on 4 October 1906. In 2006, she lived in Hishikari Town, Kagoshima Prefecture (now Isa City). At the age of 100, she said that the secret to her longevity was “not worrying too much about anything.”
Shizue Nakayama passed away of natural causes at a nursing home in Isa City on 9 September 2017, at the age of 110 years, 340 days.
On 4 October 2016, Nakayama celebrated her 110th birthday, making her the oldest person in Isa City at the time.
At the time of her death, she was the third-oldest living person in Kagoshima Prefecture, behind Nabi Tajima and Tane Yonekura.
Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 1 August 2024.
