Shizu Shizuno [Japanese: 閑野志津] was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Saitama Prefecture at the time of her death.

BIOGRAPHY

Shizu Shizuno (閑野志津) was born in Japan on January 25, 1897.
In January 2006, nine days before her 109th birthday, she became the oldest living person in Saitama Prefecture.
On April 3, 2007, Shizuno passed away in Honjō, Saitama Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 110 years and 78 days. Following her death, Takashi Hattori of Iruma City succeeded her as the prefecture’s oldest living person.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 25 September 2009 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
