Shinobu Uemura [Japanese: 上村忍] was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Kumamoto Prefecture at the time of her death.

BIOGRAPHY

Shinobu Uemura (上村忍) was born on 6 February 1901 in Japan. In October 2009, at the age of 108, she became the oldest living resident of Kumamoto Prefecture. She passed away from natural causes on 7 July 2011, at the age of 110 years and 151 days, in Ueki, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. According to reports, her appetite had declined during the month leading up to her death.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 2 August 2011 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
