Shigeno Shiomi was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Shigeno Shiomi was born on 15 April 1905, in Japan and spent most of her life in Oe-cho, Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture.

Shiomi passed away on 7 April 2016, at the age of 110 years and 358 days.

RECOGNITION

In September 2013, she was recognized as the seventh-oldest person in Kyoto Prefecture. By September 2015, Shiomi had become the third-oldest person in Kyoto Prefecture, following Matsuo Kageyama and Yasu Yasuhisa.

Following Kageyama’s passing in January 2016, she became the oldest living person in Kyoto Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 1 January 2025.
