Santa Fiducia was an Italian supercentenarian.
BIOGRAPHY
Santa Fiducia was born in Catania, Sicily, Italy, on 22 June 1916, to parents Francesco Fiducia and Giovanna Riccioli. Her father was an architect, and died at the age of 103. During the First World War, her father was serving on the front lines.
At the age of 108, she was reported to be highly active, with a wide range of interests. She was an avid reader of newspapers and books and was also regarded as a master of Sicilian cuisine, preserving and preparing many traditional recipes passed down through the generations.
At 110, she had nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Santa Fiducia passed away in Viagrande, Catania, Sicily, on 5 July 2026, at the age of 110 years, 13 days.
RECOGNITION
On 24 December 2025, following the passing of 111-year-old Maria Giovanna Cerami, she became the oldest living person in Sicily.
