Sakuichi Yamashita (Japanese: 山下作一) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Yamashita was born in Japan on 20 November 1906.

At the age of 109, he lived in his home and was able to walk.

Yamashita passed away on 8 March 2017, at the age of 110 years, 108 days.

RECOGNITION

In September 2011, he was reported as the oldest living man in Ōmiya Ward in Saitama City. Since then, up until his passing, the mayor has visited his house every September to congratulate him on his longevity.

Following Sakari Momoi‘s passing on 5 July 2015, he became the oldest living man in Saitama Prefecture.

His age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 11 May 2024.
