Mattie Ruth Stethem (née Young) was an American supercentenarian.
Ruth Stethem was born in Long Bottom, Ohio, USA, on 14 June 1903, to parents Fred E. Young and Inzie Safried. She had two sisters and two brothers. On 21 July 1921, she married Emmett Stethem, who preceded her in death on 13 May 1978. Two sons were born to this union: Roland Richard and Gerald George. Ruth was a devoted homemaker and a Methodist who enjoyed watching religious programs.
Ruth Stethem passed away at Noble Pond Aftercare facility in Canton, Ohio, on 6 June 2014, at the age of 110 years, 357 days. She was survived by her son, Gerald, as well as three grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
