Rosina Regis (née Marazino) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Rosina Regis was born in Canton, Massachusetts, USA, on 28 November 1914. She was the eldest of four children born to Onorio Marazino (d. 1939) and Santina DeGrandi (1885–1964). Her younger siblings were Armida Regis (1916–2011), Frank Marazino (1917–2001), and Lucinda Imazio (d. 2005). At the age of 5, her family returned to the parents’ native town of Gattinara, Piemonte, Italy, so the children could become acquainted with their grandparents. She was educated in Gattinara and, as a young woman, worked in textile mills, operating four machines at once.

At 21, she returned to the United States alone, with very little money and no knowledge of the English language. She arrived in New York on 1 April 1936, where she was met by family friends from New Jersey who helped her travel to Medford, Massachusetts, where her godmother lived. She eventually settled there in her own apartment, worked in a paper box factory, and attended night school to learn English.

In 1938, while in her yard, she met Victor J. Regis. After a two-year courtship, they were married on 15 June 1940, at St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody and made their home there. They shared 39 years together, until Victor’s passing in 1979. The couple had two daughters, Rosemarie Grillo and Elaine Regis.

A strong believer in staying active both physically and mentally, she made gardening—both vegetables and flowers—a summertime must. She bowled for many years with the Top of the Mark women’s morning league at Sunnyside Bowl, continuing until the age of 97.

Rosina Regis passed away in Peabody, Massachusetts, on 4 February 2026, at the age of 111 years, 68 days.
