Rosa May “Rosie” Cook was an American supercentenarian who was the oldest known living person in the state of Alabama. Her age has not been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Cook was born in Alabama, on 24 May 1912. Her earliest memory was the passing of her mother when she was about eight years old. Raised by her older siblings, she became a devoted member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir until she became disabled. She was married for 24 years, but tragically lost her husband to a heart attack while he was still a relatively young man.

RECOGNITION

Cook likely became Alabama’s oldest resident following the death of 110-year-old Willie McGhee on 12 January 2022.
