Rosa Pesce was an Italian supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) and recognised by LongeviQuest.
Rosa Pesce was born in Castelnuovo di Ceva, Piedmont, Italy, on 12 September 1902.
Her husband, Giuseppe Patrono, a farmer and carpenter, died in 1955 at the age of 57. The couple had three children, two of whom she outlived. She was survived by her daughter Rita, who was 85 at the time, and was predeceased by her son Erminio, who died at 53, and her daughter Giovanna, who passed away in 2012. A grandson, Francesco, also died in 2012 in an accident.
Even in her centenarian years, she continued to live in her home in the town square with the support of her daughter and a caregiver. One of her favorite foods was Plasmon cookies. She was said to have an exceptional memory and remained actively interested in the life of her community.
Rosa Pesce passed away in Castelnuovo di Ceva, on 9 January 2015, at the age of 112 years, 119 days.
Pesce’s age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio and validated by the GRG on 4 September 2013.
