Renée Lucie Boisseau (née Caraty) was a French supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Renée Boisseau was born in the commune of Dolus-le-Sec in the Indre-et-Loire department in central France, on 3 December 1904. She was the fifth of eight children born to parents Louis André Caraty (1864–1917) and Lucie Adrienne Rousseau (born 1870). Her siblings included: Berthe Louise (1894–1977), René Lucien (1897–1920), Raymond (1903–1978), Lucienne Marie (1906–1982), Lucien Joseph (1908–1911), and Paul Joseph (1911–1991).

On 29 April 1924, she married Charles Zacharie Constant Boisseau (1899–1973) in Tauxigny. Her husband worked as a farm laborer, and together they had three children: Guy Charles Marie (1925–2009), Thérèse Renée Marie Lucette, and Marie Claude Louisette. In her younger years, Renée worked as a cleaner before returning to her trade as a seamstress. She later pursued work as both a nurse and a waitress. By the age of 110, she had a large family that included approximately forty grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Renée Boisseau passed away in Tours in the Indre-et-Loire department, on 5 February 2016, at the age of 111 years, 84 days.

Boisseau’s age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
