BIOGRAPHY

Rachel Miles was born in Eagar, Arizona, USA, on 7 June 1915. Her first childhood home had no running water, and her father served as the local sheriff. The youngest of seven children, she attended a one-room schoolhouse where students of all ages sat together, arranged in rows according to their learning level rather than their age.

Miles graduated high school with dreams of becoming a kindergarten teacher, but her family couldn’t afford to send her to college. Instead, she devoted herself to being a full-time mother, finding great joy in watching her daughters graduate from university. She credited her long life to maintaining a positive outlook—and to her faith in Jesus.
