BIOGRAPHY

Pauline Raissle was born in Tumlingen, near Freudenstadt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on 16 December 1905. She was born as the eighth of eleven children. Initially, she didn’t want to marry, but things turned out differently when she met her husband in a time of need. She had five children.

Until just before her 100th birthday, she lived in Riederich and had hoped to remain in her home. However, after undergoing hip surgery, her mobility was limited, and managing stairs became too difficult. As a result, she decided to move to a retirement home in Metzingen. She didn’t watch television; instead, she read the Bible every day. Using a walker, she regularly visited fellow residents and led the daily table prayer. At the age of 106, she had eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Pauline Raissle passed away in Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, on 29 August 2017, at the age of 111 years, 256 days.
