Paulette Gippini was born in the commune of Ippécourt in the Meuse department in Grand Est, France, on 16 August 1913. She married Pietro Gippini in 1939. Her husband, a sculptor, passed away in 1992. Together, they had a daughter named Jocelyne. She lived in Souilly for some time before eventually moving to Bar-le-Duc.
At 109 years old, she lived at home where the assistance of care teams was essential, but she remained quite independent and could still go down the stairs on both floors. She loved to knit daily and shared her secret to longevity: a life without too much excess. In August 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday. To mark the occasion, Deputy Mayor Olivier Gonzato visited her, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne. She was surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law, two granddaughters, and great-granddaughter.
Paulette Gippini passed away in Bar-le-Duc, Meuse, Grand Est, France, on 6 October 2023, at the age of 110 years, 51 days.
Her age has not been validated.
