Odette Jeanne Maria Ottavy (née Poussade) was a French supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
Odette Ottavy was born in Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwestern France, on 13 May 1904. Her parents were Jean Poussade (1866–1947) and Marie Cassaigne (born 1866). She had at least two siblings: Jean (1891–1917) and Marie (1898–1999).
On 27 June 1929, she married Jules Ottavy (1903–1964) in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. She accompanied her husband, a career military officer, throughout his postings around the world—first to Madagascar, then to Senegal, where she gave birth to two children, and finally to Saigon, Vietnam. After their careers came to a close, the couple returned to Paris before deciding to settle in Carbonne, in the Haute-Garonne region.
Odette Ottavy passed away in Toulouse, on 1 July 2014, at the age of 110 years, 49 days.
Ottavy’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent and Martin Miet (Les Grands Centenaires Français), and was validated by the ESO on 2 March 2021.
