Natsuyo Nagaoka (Japanese: 長岡ナツヨ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Natsuyo Nagaoka was born in Japan on 10 July 1908. She married at some point in her life.

In her later years, she lived in Yamanobe Town, Yamagata Prefecture. On 7 July 2015, her 107th birthday party was held at the nursing home and attended by the mayor of Yamanobe Town, who celebrated her longevity and status as the oldest person in the town.

Nagaoka passed away of natural causes at the nursing home on 17 February 2019, at the age of 110 years, 222 days.

RECOGNITION

On 7 November 2016, following the passing of 108-year-old Saku Wakatsuki of Yonezawa, she became the oldest living person in Yamagata Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yumi Yamamoto and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 15 June 2024.
