BIOGRAPHY

Nanny Halvardsson was born in Gräsmark, Värmland, Sweden, on 2 July 1906. Her parents were Jon Halvardsson (born 1866) and Karin Nordqvist (born 1869). She had at least eight siblings, including a twin brother, Ivar. She was the youngest daughter.

She never married and did not have any children.

Nanny Halvardsson passed away in Stockholm, Sweden, on 26 May 2017, at the age of 110 years, 328 days.

RECOGNITION

On 5 May 2016, following the passing of 109-year-old Ingeborg Damgren, she became the oldest living person in Sweden, at the age of 109 years, 308 days. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Alice Östlund.
