Spicer was born as Nancy McIntosh in Irvine, Kentucky, on 15 January 1895. She was one of 11 children born to Dudley and Mary (née Woosley) McIntosh. She married World War I veteran Walker Spicer on 22 September 1920 and had two daughters, Dorothy and Ruth.
Spicer and her husband moved to the Iron River, Michigan area in 1924. She was widowed in 1967 and later moved to Florence, Wisconsin, living in Florence Villa Nursing Home in her later years. She outlived all her siblings, a son-in-law, and a grandson. She was reported to be mentally sharp as a centenarian.
Spicer died on 22 February 2005 at the age of 110 years, 38 days. She was survived by her two daughters and another grandson.
At the time of her death, Spicer was the second-oldest known Wisconsin resident after Ella Coleman (1893 – 2005).
Spicer’s age was verified by Filipe Prista Lucas and Robert Young, and was validated by the GRG on 12 March 2006.
