Nabe Kade (Japanese: 嘉手ナベ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Nabe Kade (嘉手ナベ) was born in the Nakachi area of present-day Kumejima Town, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, on 11 October 1903, and later lived in Yomitan Village and Okinawa City.
At the age of 73, she was recorded in a collection of folktales from Yomitan Village as a storyteller of traditional Okinawan folklore, preserving accounts such as the origin of hajichi (the custom of hand tattooing) and “two cups of tea,” a practice associated with warding off misfortune.
She passed away from natural causes on 21 December 2013 at a hospital in Yonabaru Town, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 110 years and 71 days.
As of 2012, she was the 9th oldest person in Okinawa Prefecture, and in 2013, she was the 7th oldest.
