BIOGRAPHY
Iwaki was born in on 10 April 1911 in Lahaina, Hawaii, then an incorporated territory of the United States. Her parents were Japanese immigrants. At some point she moved to California, USA, and was a long-time resident of Los Angeles. She had four children.
Iwaki died on 7 May 2022 in Garden Grove, California at the age of 111 years, 27 days. At the time of her death, she had eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
RECOGNITION
On 22 May 2021, following the death of 111-year-old Hanako Hashimoto, she became the oldest known living person born in the U.S. state of Hawaii.
