Masayo Itō was born in Japan on October 1, 1902.
She got married at the age of 16 and had nine children.
Following the death of a 110-year-old anonymous woman of Sandai on 11 January 2013, she became the oldest living person in Miyagi Prefecture.
Masayo Ito died in Marumori, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan on 6 January 2016, at the age of 113 years, 97 days. She was the oldest living person in Miyagi Prefecture.
RECOGNITION
Itō’s age was verified by Anson Davis and MHLW, Japan, and validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 14 January 2014.
