Masamitsu Yoshida (Japanese: 吉田正光) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). He is currently the oldest validated man ever from Tokyo Prefecture.

BIOGRAPHY

Masamitsu Yoshida was born in Japan on 30 May 1904.

Yoshida died in Ōta ward located in Tokyo Metropolis, Japan, on 29 October 2016, at the age of 112 years, 152 days. His death was not reported by media until mid-December 2016.

RECOGNITION

On 19 January 2016, following the death of 112-year-old Yasutaro Koide, he became the oldest living man in Japan. He held the title until his own death nine months later.

At the time of death, he was the third-oldest living man in the world, behind Israel Kristal of Israel and Wenceslao Leyva González of Mexico.
