Masaki Moriyama was born in Japan on December 21, 1885.

At the age of 111, Moriyama was receiving nursing care at her home in Fukuoka City. She was reportedly of sound mind.

Masaki Moriyama passed away at her home in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan on September 14, 1997 at the age of 111 years, 267 days. She was the oldest person in Fukuoka Prefecture, the second oldest person in the Kyushu region, and the sixth oldest person in Japan at the time of her death.

Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group, and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
