BIOGRAPHY

Masa Shimizu was born in Japan on 10 April 1900.

Shimizu passed away from old age on 27 February 2011, at his home in Shikishima, Yamanashi Prefecture (now Kai City), at the age of 110 years, 323 days.

RECOGNITION

On 12 May 2008, following the passing of Fumi Oki of Kofu City at the age of 109, she became the oldest living person in Yamanashi Prefecture, at the age of 108 years, 35 days.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yumi Yamamoto and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 12 September 2024.
