Mary Sadler was born in Terang, Victoria, Australia, on 12 January 1908. She and her husband, Lindsay, had seven children, with the youngest born when she was 46. They lived for 50 years on a farm at Glenormiston.
In 2005, at 97, she moved to Melbourne to be closer to family. By the time she was 108, she had 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. She credited the homegrown food she ate as a child as one of the secrets to her longevity.
Mary Sadler passed away in Balwyn, Victoria, Australia, on 29 June 2018, at the age of 110 years, 168 days.
