Mary Power (née King) was a Canadian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Mary Power was born on 13 October 1884 in Crowley’s Island, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, Canada, to parents George King and Bridget Griffin. She had at least six siblings, with her brother John also reaching the age of 100. She grew up in Crawleys Island, Long Harbour.

In 1904, she married William Power, with whom she raised nine children. By her 106th birthday in 1990, she was celebrated at the Lions Manor in Placentia, surrounded by children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren. Known for her sharp memory, storytelling, and good health, she remarked humorously that in “another seven years, I’ll be a teenager again.”

Mary Power passed away on 4 December 1994 in Chapel Arm, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, at the age of 110.
