Marie-Rose Dressay

BIOGRAPHY

Dressay was born in the commune of Sète in the Hérault department, in the region of Occitania, France, on 1 August 1911. She had a challenging childhood due to her father’s absence. She moved to the Paris region with her mother and brother. After obtaining her school certificate, she began working at the age of 14, managing secretarial and accounting duties for several companies. After World War II, she spent 25 years in the civil service at the Ministry of Veterans and Victims of War.

In the mid-1940s, she met Hubert Dressay, who was originally from Port-Navalo. Their only son Gérard was born in 1946. Upon retirement in 1970, they moved to Port-Navalo. Following her husband’s passing, she relocated to the independent living residence in Arzon in 2002.

Dressay passed away in Arzon, on 5 December 2021, at the age of 110 years, 126 days.
