Marie-Noémie Malric was a French-born Lebanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Marie-Noémie Malric was born in the commune of Saint-Amans-Valtoret in the Tarn department and Occitanie region of southern France, on 22 December 1901. Her parents were Henri Malric (born 1872) and Marie Assemat (1879–1918). She had at least eight siblings: Henri (1898–1994), Édouard Henri (1899–1899), Henriette Lizette (1904–1990), Cécile Germaine (1907–2008), Jean Gabriel François (1911–2011), Louis Vincent (1912–2001), Germaine Claire (1914–2021), and François (1916–1996).

Several of her siblings lived past the age of 90. Her brother Henri died at 96, her brother Jean Gabriel François at 100, her sister Cécile Germaine at 101, and her sister Germaine Claire at 107 on 26 December 2021.

She decided to devote her life to religion, and her religious vocation took place on 21 December 1925. She took the name Sister (Sœur) Joseph. She served in Iran for several years before an illness forced her to relocate to the Bhannes Mountains in Lebanon, where the climate was more suitable for her recovery. On 8 September 2006, she moved into Sainte Cécile Home in Bhannes.

Marie-Noémie Malric passed away in Bhannes, Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon, on 7 August 2012, at the age of 110 years, 229 days.
