RECOGNITION

Liguinen was not known to researchers until July 2014, when she was 113 and the doyenne of France. Prior to this date, Olympe Amaury was believed to be France’s oldest resident since the death of Suzanne Burrier, 112, on 14 July 2013. Amaury would regain the title after Liguinen’s death.

Liguinen’s age was verified by Cyril Depoudent, Laurent Toussaint, Daniel Lejay, and Les Grands Centenaires Français. Her age was validated by the ESO on 31 December 2022, and by the GRG with a retroactive date of 23 May 2015.
