Mariana Damas Romão de Almeida was a Portuguese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).

BIOGRAPHY

Mariana Damas Romão de Almeida was born in the parish of Sobrado in the municipality of Castelo de Paiva, Aveiro District, Portugal, on 22 February 1911, to parents Eduardo da Maia Romão and Maria Damas Romão. At some point, she married Adolfo Joaquim de Almeida.

Mariana Damas Romão de Almeida passed away in the parish of Paranhos in the municipality of Porto, Portugal, on 29 January 2022, at the age of 110.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Porto District, and the third-oldest known living person in Portugal, behind Maria da Encarnação Nunes de Sousa and Isabel Gomes Sarmento.

Her age was verified by Chris Law and Gabriel Lemos, and validated by the ESO on 17 July 2023.
