Maria Mattivi was an Italian supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
Maria Mattivi was born in Bedollo, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy, on 29 November 1904. She and her brother Cristiano were the only two of nine siblings to survive into adulthood. Her grandfather, who had worked as a miner in the United States, returned home suffering from silicosis. Her father left to fight in World War I. She received her education in the Austrian school system of the time, completing eight years of elementary school.
At the age of 25, she married Fortunato, and together they had three children: Adelia (born in 1930), Ester (1934), and Luciano (1948).
On 10 December 2014, following the passing of Rosina Nicolli, she became the oldest living person in Trentino-Alto Adige. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Maria Vencelj Maggi.
Mattivi’s age was verified by Alessandro Delucchi, Paolo Scarabaggio, and an anonymous researcher, and was validated by the ESO on 27 January 2020.
