Anna Margareta “Margarete” Dannheimer was a German supercentenarian. Her age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO).
Margarete Dannheimer was born in Oestheim, Bavaria, Germany, on 28 January 1904. After attending boarding school in Regensburg, she and her family moved to Nuremberg. Following the bombing raids of World War II, she relocated to Neuendettelsau. Trained as a medical assistant, she first worked in her brother’s practice before helping in the radio business that her husband established in Neuendettelsau. Her husband passed away at the age of 94.
At the age of 109, Dannheimer left her home and moved into a Diakonie nursing facility, where she shared a room with her daughter.
Margarete Dannheimer passed away in Neuendettelsau, Bavaria, on 2 July 2015, at the age of 111 years, 155 days.
On 16 May 2015, following the passing of Charlotte Klamroth, she became the oldest living person in Germany. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Else Rönsch.
Dannheimer’s age was verified by Stefan Jamin and Marco Wikkerink, and was validated by the ESO on 24 February 2020.
