Margaret Schaap is a British supercentenarian.
Margaret Schaap was born on 18 August 1915. She had a twin. In her adult life, she worked as a fabric designer and craft teacher. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and crafting, and she also played at Sandhurst Tennis Club until she was 82.
On her 110th birthday, Margaret still lived independently, in an annex next door to her daughter. At the birthday party her daughter said: “She’s always busy doing things. She helps at the church with the toddler groups. She does the painting table and woe-betide anyone else who wants to do the painting table!”
When asked the secret to her longevity, she said: “Being interested in things and people and helping people to do things. I never sit still for very long!”
Following the passing of Norah Muchmore (7 January 1914 – 18 April 2023) of Slough, she became the oldest known living person in Berkshire.
Her age has not been validated.
