Margaret Gatti (née Daro) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Margaret was born on 19 December 1913, in League City, Texas, United States. She was the oldest child born to Guiseppe and Maria Daro. John Batisti Daro (1919–2010) and Lucy Daro (1922–2014) were her younger siblings.
Her parents came over by boat from Cercenasco, Italy and arrived in League City, Texas in 1904. They farmed the land and sold their produce to Galveston and Houston farmers markets. She attended school until the third grade and then worked alongside her parents and siblings on the family farm. She married Italian-born Louis Victor Gatti in 1933. The couple resided in Houston, Texas to raise their two daughters. Upon the unexpected death of her husband in 1951, Margaret continued owning, managing and maintaining various real estate properties. With only a third-grade education she was a savvy, successful businesswomen.
Margaret was a wonderful cook and loved having family over for Sunday dinners. She treasured her friends and would host fancy dinner parties at her house and would enjoy nights out ballroom dancing. Being outdoors gardening and tending to her rose bushes was one of her favorite past times. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting her extended family in Italy.
She passed away in Houston, Texas, USA, on 14 February 2025 at the age of 112 years, 57 days.
