BIOGRAPHY

Marcelo Ajalcriña Bonifacio was born in Ica Department, Peru, on 14 January 1907.

He was the father of 12 children, including Freddy, Jorge, and Rolando, and had outlived two of them. Marcelo was also one of the founding members of the Chincha Drivers’ Union.

Marcelo Ajalcriña Bonifacio passed away of natural causes at 5:30 p.m. on 21 August 2017, in the Emergency Department of Es-Salud Hospital in Chincha Alta. At the time of his passing, he had 32 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

RECOGNITION

His age was verified and listed as pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) organization on 3 May 2022.
