Manuel Martínez Milán is a Puerto Rican supercentenarian who is currently the territory’s oldest known living man. His age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Manuel Martínez Milán was born on 18 June 1916 in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico to parents Pedro Martínez Claudio and Jacinta Milán Hernández as one of nine children.

On 23 July 1945, he married Delia Martínez Álamo and together, they had eight children (four boys and four girls), whom four live in the United States and four in Puerto Rico. He got 14 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren later (as of June 2026). Manuel Martinez held countless jobs, as a child he brought water to workers in the sugar cane fields, then he was a driver of the trucks that collected and transported the cut cane and was a driver of private vehicles that transported passengers. Eventually, he alternated his various jobs singing in trios and quartets that sang typical music from Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries. Martínez Milán is a descendant of the Canary Island families who founded the town of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico, in 1745.

He currently lives in his hometown Toa Baja, Puerto Rico.

RECOGNITION

On 11 December 2024, following the passing of 109-year-old Andrés Irizarry Troche, he became the oldest known living man in Puerto Rico.
