Maria Magdalena Oliver Gabarró was a Spanish supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living person in Spain, and the third-oldest living person in the world.
BIOGRAPHY
Magdalena Oliver Gabarró was born on 31 October 1903 in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, to parents Pedro Oliver Muntaner and Antonia Gabarró Comas. She married in 1934 but never had children, and spent her entire life in Barcelona. She was a deeply religious woman, and worked as a movie theater cashier for 41 years.
For nearly four decades, she lived at the residence of the Angelic Sisters in Barcelona. During her free time, she enjoyed listening to the radio and attending the opera.
Magdalena Oliver Gabarró passed away in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, at 9:15 AM on 1 May 2019, at the age of 115 years, 182 days.
RECOGNITION
On 15 December 2017, following the passing of Ana Vela Rubio, she became the Oldest Living Person in Spain. Upon her own passing, she was s\ucceeded by Josefa Santos González.
In October 2018, she celebrated her 115th birthday, becoming the second Spanish person to reach this age, after Ana Vela Rubio.
At the time of her passing, she was the third-oldest living person in the world, after Kane Tanaka (Japan) and Maria-Giuseppa Robucci (Italy).
Her age was verified by Georg Fürholzer, Jimmy Lindberg and Fabrizio Villatoro, and validated by LongeviQuest on 28 May 2026.
