BIOGRAPHY

Madeleine Dullier was born in Mellet, Hainaut Province, Belgium, on 30 April 1907. Dullier was raised by her grandparents, who owned a small farm. She married twice and had seven children, living in Viesville at the time.

At the age of 97, Dullier was hospitalized for a tissue infection. As she began to recover, she was transferred to a nursing home in Courcelles, where she continued to reside. At 110, she remained mentally sharp and in good physical health. She also continued to enjoy her favorite hobby, knitting. In the summer of 2017, she visited the Pairi Daiza animal park.

Dullier passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of 20 April 2018, at the age of 110 years, 355 days.

RECOGNITION

Dulier became the oldest known living person in Belgium, following the death of Fernande Everaert-De Raeve on 6 December 2017. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Elisabeth De Proost.

Her age has not been validated.
