Lydia Maria Åslund (née Sundqvist) was a Swedish supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and recognised by LongeviQuest (LQ). She was the second-oldest resident of the country after Ruth Engström.
BIOGRAPHY
Åslund was born as Lydia Maria Sundqvist in Karbenning, a small town in Västmanland County, Sweden on 14 November 1902. She died in Stockholm on 19 November 2012 at the age of 110 years, 5 days.
RECOGNITION
Åslund’s age was verified by Jimmy Lindberg and Marten Andersson, and validated by the ESO on 21 March 2022.
