BIOGRAPHY

King was born in Onalaska, Texas, USA, on 17 August 1904, to parents Charlie and Melissa Wilson. She had two siblings: Earnest Wilson and Claricy Qualls.

At some point, she married Walter Lee King (1905–1947). The couple had six children: Charlie Nathaniel King, Mary Lou Davis (both of whom she outlived), Clarice Branch, Walter Henry Kind, Glory Jean Ward, and Elsie Deloris Hill.

Kind passed away in Livingston, Texas, USA, on 12 March 2015, at the age of 110 years, 207 days. She was survived by four of her children, as well as a collective total of 127 descendants.

RECOGNITION

On 3 March 2015, following the passing of 113-year-old Bertha Harris, she became the oldest (known) living person in the U.S. state of Texas. She held the title for only nine days. Upon her passing, she was succeeded by Corine Snow.

Her age was verified by Stefan Maglov and Jimmy Lindberg, and validated by LongeviQuest on 26 February 2024.
