Luigia Gorla was born in Milan, Lombardy, Italy, on 28 January 1911.

Gorla passed away in Milan, Lombardy, Italy, on 16 August 2022, at the age of 111 years, 200 days.

RECOGNITION

Gorla’s age was verified by Paolo Scarabaggio and validated by the ESO on 2 April 2021.

Following the death of Angela Tiraboschi on 7 May 2022, she became the oldest known living person in Lombardy, a title she shared with Ilde Coletti until Coletti’s passing on 26 June 2022. After Coletti’s death, she held the title alone until her own passing nearly two months later.
