Lucía Azucena Suárez Wilde de Ricotti was an Argentine supercentenarian.
BIOGRAPHY
Lucía Suárez Wilde was born in Humahuaca, Jujuy Province, Argentina, on 1 July 1893, to parents Abraham Suárez Sosa (1864–1912) and Estela Wilde Zenteno (1859–1936). She had at least eight siblings: Ana Ofelia (1883–1951), Hermán (1888–1957), Abraham, Francisca (1891), Estefanía (1895–1967), Leoncio (1898), María Graciela (1900–1967), and Estela Argentina (1902–1952).
On 14 August 1915, at the age of 22, she married Conrado Manuel Ricotti Liparelli (born 1883) in San Salvador de Jujuy. The couple had five children: Hugo Conrado (1917–1972), Cristina Azucena (1918), Elva Georgina (1919–1990), Nelly Argentina (1921), and Aldo Rodolfo. She worked as a teacher, and taught, among other students, Horacio Guzmán, three-time governor of the province and founder of the Jujuy Popular Movement (MPJ).
Lucía Suárez Wilde de Ricotti passed away in San Salvador de Jujuy, Jujuy Province, on 18 April 2006, at the age of 112 years, 291 days.
RECOGNITION
Her age was researched by Santiago García Medina, and announced as a pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 3 May 2022.
