Lorenzo Torres Chávez was a Mexican supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Lorenzo Torres Chávez was born in Huejotitán, Jocotepec, Jalisco, México on 3 August 1915. In 1942, he married María Guadalupe Castillo Sosa, and together they had 12 children.
Throughout his life, his physical activity and unwavering faith in God contributed to his good health. He barely consumed alcohol and maintained a simple, unrestricted diet. His sister María Torres Chávez (12 August 1919 – 21 October 2025) lived to be 106.
At the age of 108, he expressed no fear of death, stating, “One must live; death will come.” He was reported to have maintained excellent vision, mobility, hearing, and speaking. By that time, his family had grown to include over 50 grandchildren, nearly 70 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Torres Chávez passed away in Zapopan, Jalisco, on 16 October 2025, at the age of 110 years, 74 days.
His age was verified by James Roberts, Fabrizio Villatoro and Stefan Maglov, and validated by LongeviQuest on 1 August 2025.
Following the death of 111-year-old Hilario Orozco Lemus on 5 August 2025, he became the oldest known living man in Mexico.
