Lois Inez Boston (née Wallin) was an American supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. She was the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Kansas at the time of her death.
Boston was born as Lois Inez Wallin in Oklahoma on 10 May 1913, to Benjamin and Mary Lou Wallin. She was the ninth of twelve children—six girls and six boys. Her first brother died as a baby from diphtheria, but eleven of the twelve children survived to adulthood. When Lois was six years old, the family moved to Texas. She grew up on a farm and remained there until she graduated from high school.
Afterward, she moved to Goodwell, Oklahoma, to attend Panhandle A&M College (now known as Oklahoma Panhandle State University), where she met Charley Boston. Both graduated from college, and on 24 December 1936, Lois married Charley. They had three daughters: Gay, Charlene, and Victoria. The couple settled in Guymon, where Charley began a plumbing business. Later, he expanded into the furniture trade while continuing to operate the plumbing company. She was an avid golfer until she was 83 years old.
She worked as a teacher in the towns of May, Felt, and Guymon, while also co-owning the Boston Furniture store in Guymon. When Charley’s health declined, Lois could no longer care for him at home, and he moved to Dunaway Manor, where he passed away on 27 April 2006.
Boston remained in their family home for five more years before moving first to the Guymon assisted living facility, and later to a nursing home, where she lived until her passing.
At the time of her 107th birthday, she had five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bridge and getting her hair done and is a longtime member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. She moved to Kansas in 2024.
Boston passed away on 7 August 2025, at the age of 112 years, 89 days.
On 19 April 2022, following the death of 112-year-old Ethel Bowens, she became the oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. In early 2024, she moved to Kansas, where she held the title of oldest known living person in the state until her death on 7 August 2025.
In April 2023, there was a widespread social media campaign to celebrate Boston’s upcoming 110th birthday. For the occasion, Guymon mayor Kim Peterson proclaimed the week of 7-13 May 2023 as “Lois Boston Week.”
Boston received congratulations from Congressman Frank Lucas, State Senator Casey Murdock, State Representative Kenton Patzkowsky, and President Joe Biden.
Her age was validated by LongeviQuest on 18 May 2023.
