Lexie Ella Holbrook (née Settle) was an American supercentenarian who was among the oldest living people in North Carolina before her death at the age of 110. Her age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Holbrook was born as Lexie Ella Settle in Wilkes County, North Carolina, as one of seven children born to Enos Watson and Ella Elvira (Tharpe) Settle. She spent her childhood living on her family’s farm, and would later partake in farm work.

Holbrook married her husband, Paul, on 6 June 1936. The couple had two sons, Larry and Kenneth. Before the couple moved to North Wilkesboro, North Carolina in 1944, Holbrook’s husband and his father operated a mill. After their move, Holbrook opened and ran a small convenience store. She was widowed in 1966.

Until the age of 98, Holbrook lived independently. In 2006, after suffering a fall and breaking her arm, she moved into a North Wilkesboro retirement community, where she would remain for the rest of her life.

Holbrook died on 30 March 2018 at the age of 110 years, 128 days. She was survived by her son Kenneth, as well as four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
