Kunie Kamiya (Japanese: 神屋クニヱ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest. At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Ōita Prefecture, Japan.

BIOGRAPHY

Kunie Kamiya was born in Megusuno, Ōita City, Ōita Prefecture, Japan, on 13 September 1908. She had three sons and two daughters.

Until the age of 70, she worked as a rice and wheat farmer.

In 2011, she moved to a nursing home. On 6 April 2020, following the death of 111-year-old Shiki Fukuda, she became the oldest living person in Ōita Prefecture.

Kamiya died in Ōita City, Ōita Prefecture, Japan on 26 January 2021 at the age of 112 years, 135 days. She was survived by her eldest son, Fumio.

RECOGNITION

Following her death, Kiyo Sato became the oldest living person in Ōita Prefecture.

Her age was verified by the Japan’s MHLW and Yu Li, and validated by LongeviQuest on 8 February 2023.
