Koyumi Inoue [Japanese: 井上こゆみ] was a Japanese supercentenarian.
Koyumi Inoue (井上こゆみ) was born on July 18, 1895, in a village that later became Miyama Town, now part of Yamagata City, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
At the age of 100, she was still able to walk on her own. However, after falling from her bed at the age of 104, she became unable to walk and began living with the support of her family. Although she could no longer walk, she reportedly continued to move around on her own.
In her later years, she continued to live at home with her family, maintaining a regular routine—waking up at 4:30 a.m. and going to bed at 7:00 p.m. She loved coffee, drinking it three times a day, and as a vegetarian, she often ate vegetables such as carrots and garlic chives.
Inoue passed away of natural causes at her home in Motosu City on July 12, 2006, at the age of 110. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Gifu Prefecture. Following her passing, Suwa Kondo of Ena City succeeded her as the prefecture’s oldest resident.
Her age was validated by the Gerontology Research Group on 15 October 2005 and later recognized by LongeviQuest.
