Kin Horiuchi (Japanese: 堀内きん) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Kin Horiuchi was born in Japan on 21 August 1912.

In August 2020, she was paid a special visit by city officials to celebrate her 108th birthday. She was handed gifts of tea and hand-made birthday placard. When asked about the secret of her longevity, she replied, “Live long and carefully, taking life as it is.” Her favorite foods were bread, fish, and seaweed.

Kin Horiuchi passed away in Suruga Ward in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, on 30 December 2022, at the age of 110 years.

RECOGNITION

In December 2022, she was reported to be the oldest living person in Shizuoka City.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li and Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by LongeviQuest on 30 November 2023.
